“HE is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us.”
(Eph. 3: 20 NIV)
I have been thinking about prayer lately. In fact, I have been thinking about prayer a lot. I have been considering what things might be a help to my prayers, and especially, what things might be a hindrance to them. I have learned many things, but one in particular is this: When we pray, we must beware of limiting God. How do we limit God? One way we limit Him is by our unbelief (James 1:6-7). Another way we limit Him is by imagining that we know what He can and what He cannot do. I have been repeatedly reminded, that when we pray we should expect unexpected things. As the verse above suggests, we should expect things immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine.
Each time we pray, we should first begin by worshipping God in His glory – thinking about whom HE is, and reflecting upon what HE can do. Then, remembering our position in Christ, we should expect great things!
“For with God nothing shall be impossible.”
(Luke 1:37)
