“…Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me.”
(Psalm 40:11)
A young mother was quite surprised to find her five-year-old daughter going through a new Bible storybook and circling the word “God” wherever it appeared on the page. Holding back her first reaction to reprimand her child for defacing the book, she quietly asked, “Why are you doing that?” The little girl’s matter-of-fact answer was, “So that I will know where to find God when I want Him or need Him.” Wouldn’t it be nice to have her confidence? Believing that all we had to do was open a storybook and find God waiting for us? The truth is, we do have such a Book: The Bible.
Let our prayer be that of The Psalmist:
“Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold Wondrous things out of thy law.”
Psalm 119:18
